The Silentex® direct filling process was invented by Owens Corning in the late 80s and provides the automotive exhaust market with a unique technology to fill silencer cavities. The patented nozzles enable the texturizing of a tailor-made Advantex® Type 30® roving through a highly-automated and high throughput system.

While integrating vacuum to enable a good distribution of filaments in the muffler cavities, the process is still faster than the muffler assembly steps.

Compared to traditional sound absorption technologies, the Silentex® direct filling process reduces logistics of raw materials while providing most efficient and low-density acoustic solution for enhanced performance of the mufflers.
