Volunteerism
Owens Corning knows that community support helps drive our company’s success, and encourage our employees to give back to their communities through volunteerism. Every year, our employees devote thousands of hours of their time to address social needs by working side-by-side with our partners. Company coordinated projects, such as United Way Days of Caring, volunteering in the classroom and Earth Day projects are some of the examples of how employees volunteer in their respective communities.
Global Volunteer of the Year
In recognition of this tremendous employee contribution, we developed the Owens Corning Volunteer of the Year Awards. Begun in 1993, this program makes our commitment to volunteerism official. We salute and celebrate our community-minded employees by joining in their efforts. The Volunteer of the Year Awards salutes the employee, employee team and retiree of the year for their contributions. A $1000 donation from the Owens Corning Foundation is given to each recipient’s charity of choice.
