Performance Attributes

INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY
VERY GOOD SURFACE ASPECT
CORROSION RESISTANCE
  • Increased Productivity

High tensile strength makes the product ideal for fast pultrusion speed and most challenging profiles.

  • Very Good Surface Aspect

Uniform glass distribution combined with fast wet-through and good wet-out enable pultruded profiles with very good surface aspect.

  • Corrosion Resistance

Excellent corrosion resistance with Advantex® Glass compared to standard E-glass, providing longer service life in applications facing corrosion.

APPLICATIONS

M8643 mat is compatible with unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resin systems and designed primarily for the reinforcement of pultruded shapes, including gratings, ladder rails, frames, and insulators. Picture courtesy Strongwell, USA (under bridge)

Packaging & Labeling

Each roll is wound on a 101.6 mm (4”) inside diameter paper tube, fully enclosed in Creel-Pak™ wrap, positioned vertically on each pallet, and Cling-Pak™ wrapped. To allow 100% traceability once the roll is slit, information is printed onto the wrapping film and the core paper tube.

Each roll bears a label detailing the product description, product code, nominal weight, roll width, roll number, and date of manufacture.

Storage

Unless otherwise specified, it is recommended to store glass fiber products in a cool, dry area. Ideal conditions are at a temperature between 10°C and 35°C and a relative humidity between 35% and 85%. The glass fiber products must remain in their original packaging material until the point of usage. If the storage temperature is below 15°C, it is recommended that the product be stored in the workshop, within its original packaging, at least 24 hours prior to use to help prevent condensation. The packaging is not waterproof. Be sure to protect the product from the weather and other sources of water. When stored properly, there is no known shelf life to the product, but retesting is advised after three years from the initial production date to ensure optimum performance.
