Owens Corning was named to CDP’s “Climate A List” for the fifth year in a row and the “Water Security A List” for the second straight year. Inclusion on these lists recognizes Owens Corning for its corporate sustainability leadership, through scoring that “measures comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks and best practices associated with environmental leadership, such as setting ambitious and meaningful targets Formerly known as Carbon Disclosure Project, the U.K.-based CDP works with investors, companies and policymakers to reduce GHG emissions and safeguard water resources and forests.

Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

In 2020, for the 11th year in a row, Owens Corning earned placement in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index in recognition of its sustainability initiatives. The DJSI World Index is an elite listing of the world’s largest companies based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria. The company was named Industry Leader for the DJSI World Building Products group for the 8th straight year.

Owens Corning Earns No. 1 Ranking on 100 Best Corporate Citizens List for Second Year in a Row

Owens Corning ranked No. 1 on the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List for 2020 – the second year in a row OC has earned this honor. The annual list recognizes the standout global environmental, social and governance (ESG) performances of the largest U.S.-based public companies.

DiversityInc 2020 Companies for Diversity

Owens Corning was named a 2020 Noteworthy Company by DiversityInc, an organization that annually ranks U.S. companies for diversity, equity, and inclusion. The rankings measure performance based on six key areas of diversity and inclusion management: human capital diversity metrics; leadership accountability; talent programs; workplace practices; supplier diversity; and philanthropy.

The Ethisphere Institute named Owens Corning one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Computerworld’s 2020 Best Places to Work

For the seventh consecutive year, Owens Corning was named one of the best places to work in information technology by Insider Pro and IDG's Computerworld. The ranking is based on such factors as benefits, diversity, career development, training, retention, and the results of an employee survey. Owens Corning received the No. 2 spot among the top 100 large organizations for 2020. In 2019, Owens Corning ranked No. 1 on the list.

Corporate Equality Index

Owens Corning received a perfect score on the 2020 Corporate Equality Index. The company earned 100 percent for the 16th consecutive time on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual scorecard. CEI is a key benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. Owens Corning joined 680 other U.S. businesses that also received the highest rating on the 2020 scorecard.

RobecoSAM Annual Sustainability Yearbook

Owens Corning was recognized as one of the world’s most sustainable companies for the seventh consecutive year by sustainability investment specialist SAM. This recognition earned the company placement in RobecoSAM’s 2020 Sustainability Yearbook. Its score – within one percentage point of the top score globally – earned the company the Gold Class distinction from RobecoSAM. The yearbook looks at performance across such factors as volunteerism, energy and emissions reduction, production efficiency, customer and supplier collaboration, and talent development.

2020 Women on Boards

Owens Corning was recognized by 2020 Women on Boards for having 25 percent women on its board. The goal of the 2020 Women on Boards campaign, which began in 2010, is to raise the percentage of women on corporate boards in the United States to 20 percent or more by the year 2020.

Forbes America’s Best Employers

Owens Corning ranked 379th among 500 employers on the Forbes list of America's Best Employers for 2019. Forbes, in partnership with Statista, surveyed more than 30,000 workers at corporations, nonprofits, universities, and government agencies with 5,000 or more employees. The survey asked people about the likelihood of recommending their employer to others, as well as how they felt about other employers in their industry.

Newsweek’s Most Responsible Companies

Named one of America’s Most Responsible Companies 2020 by Newsweek magazine. Owens Corning ranked No. 76 on the magazine’s inaugural list, which was created in partnership with global data research firm Statista Inc. The analysis measured 2,000 public companies on three areas of corporate responsibility: environment, social and corporate governance.

Environmental Leader’s Top Product of the Year 2018

Environmental Leader awarded Owens Corning a Product of the Year honor for three types of insulation independently certified by SCS Global Services as made with renewable energy and reduced embodied carbon. With a reduced carbon footprint, these products help architects design buildings and builders build homes with reduced life-cycle impact.

Mogul’s Top 1000 Companies Worldwide for Millennial Women in 2018

Owens Corning earned placement on Mogul’s Top 1000 Companies Worldwide. This is based on annual research on workplaces for women, involving public information as well as nominations from Mogul's 20,000 HR partners and collaborators. Workplaces are assessed on women's initiatives, women in leadership, workplace policies and culture, and overall diversity and inclusion.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s SAFETY Act Designation

Several Thermafiber® mineral wool insulation products and their supporting design and installation services earned SAFETY Act Designation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Use of these products and services will provide building professionals with liability protection in the unfortunate event of an act of terrorism on their structure.

Certified as Made with 100% Wind-Powered Electricity

In 2017, three types of Owens Corning commercial and residential insulation were independently certified as made with renewable energy. These products are the first ever to meet the requirements of SCS Global Services’ certification protocol to validate electricity used to make them is 100% wind-powered, which, in turn, reduces their carbon footprint. In 2018, Owens Corning expanded the number of products with this certification to seven.

Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America Certification

Owens Corning received asthma & allergy friendly® certification for its Pure Safety™ high performance insulation – the building products industry’s first product to earn the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). Pure Safety™ insulation has up to 65% less dust than comparable insulation and is mold and mildew resistant.

Green Cross for Safety Medal

Owens Corning received the highest honor of the National Safety Council in 2014, the Green Cross for Safety medal. NSC presents the award annually to an organization with outstanding safety performance and a commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities where its employees work and live.
