Spencer Mistelske started framing, roofing and siding houses at age 15 during summer breaks. Each summer he worked on a new trade, gaining substantial knowledge about many specific building trades. He worked for a general contractor to support himself through college, subsequently landing a corporate position after graduating. He built two homes for himself – one in 1999 and another in 2002 – yet he felt something was “missing” while working in a corporate setting. Spencer started Turnkey Restoration in 2006, where he could fill the void that was missing – his passion for helping others. He began buying, selling and flipping homes, then found his true calling – helping others in their most stressful time – when they needed to restore their homes after catastrophic storm damage from wind, hail, lightning or driving rain. It was the ultimate in matchmaking for two of Spencer’s loves: the construction industry and helping others in a time of need. With 25 years of experience working in different construction trades, he was recently joined by his wife, Melanie, to expand their general contracting family business. With her history of working for multiple builders, she brings her interior and exterior building design and decorating expertise to Turnkey Restoration. As a family run business, the owners and team at Turnkey learn about your community and what is important to you, beyond compliance with building codes.
