Sedona Canyon

2017 Shingle Color of the Year

Inspired by Nature

As a nod to the gravitational and tactile quality of wood which makes us want to touch it as well as the calming influence of blue in our lives, we are excited to name Sedona Canyon, of our Duration® Designer Colors Collection shingles, as the Owens Corning Roofing 2017 SHINGLE COLOR OF THE YEAR. It is a color that both grounds us and allows us to have greater versatility in color choice, no matter what the season.

The art of picking a roofing color of the year is complex. A good roof color allows you to feel at one with nature in one season then on to light and airy the next—a good roof color can both work with all of your exterior elements and natural surroundings and still reflect your color personality. Sedona Canyon is the perfect roof color to do this. It’s warm and reminiscent of wood shake shingles but is much more nuanced with a variety of subtle undertones, so that it delivers a color experience that wood could never match. Burnt umber, chestnut and butterscotch hues with a twist of blue (which can read as blue, gray or purple depending upon other exterior elements) help give a Sedona Canyon roof depth and dimension as well as an outstanding color effect.

A Beautiful Team

Owens Corning has teamed up with the global authority on color, Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the PANTONE Color Institute™, to pair Owens Corning shingles with trending fashion colors. Leatrice is the author of nine books on color and is widely quoted and is recognized as one of the most influential people in the world of color. Together, we are excited to provide you color guidance and inspiration. As Leatrice would say—“empower yourself with color because it will bring you much happiness!”

Pantone Fashion Color

We all love to see the latest fashion color trends. There is always a color or two among them that we feel an instant connection. These colors can flow through our lives with relative ease—they may become our next trench coat, couch pillows, or bedroom paint colors. Your favorite fashion colors can also migrate to the exterior of your home and co-exist with your shingle color. Here are three fashion color pairings for the Owens Corning Shingle COLOR OF THE YEAR, Sedona Canyon.

Sedona Canyon - Sharkskin Sedona Canyon - Sharkskin Sedona Canyon - Sharkskin

Sharkskin with Sedona Canyon

There’s an edge to Sharkskin, and yet it manages to remain neutral. It is pair-able with almost any fall color, bright or muted. The twist of a blue gray tab in the warm Sedona Canyon pairs the two together beautifully.

Sedona Canyon - Serenity Sedona Canyon - Serenity Sedona Canyon - Serenity

Serenity with Sedona Canyon

Assuring and expansive like the blue sky above us, Serenity provides a calming comfort zone. The warm earthy tones of Sedona Canyon provide a solid foundation inspired by nature.

Sedona Canyon - Marsala Sedona Canyon - Marsala Sedona Canyon - Marsala

Marsala with Sedona Canyon

A robust wine-colored speaks of and richness, while its grounding red-brown roots point to a sophisticated, natural earthiness. It pairs wonderfully with Sedona Canyon.
