ExCEED on the Job is a quarterly and annual award program that recognizes insulation installers, spray foam sprayers and support staffs' excellence in upholding the standards of the Owens Corning® Certified Energy Expert® (CEE) program.

These individuals ensure our end consumers truly have more comfort and energy efficiency in their everyday lives. Specifically, they:

Show a commitment to customer service and quality.
Adhere to outstanding insulation industry standards and practices.
Go above and beyond to consistently ensure excellence with each project.

To be eligible for this award, an insulation installer must have completed the CEE Orientation and Apprentice training courses, and any support staff nominees must have completed the Orientation course through the Owens Corning Certified Energy Expert program.

To be eligible for this award, a spray foam sprayer must have completed the NP Certification Core Curriculum course through the Owens Corning Certified Energy Expert program, and the business must be certified.

3 FOR THE ROAD

Each month, the CEE team hits the road to connect with CEEs, whether it's to present an exCEEd on the Job award, support a builder event, develop training content, or enjoy some friendly competition on the golf course. With our new "3 for the Road" initiative, we’ll highlight three key insights we gathered from our visits over the past month.

How much space can you save in the box of your blow truck? Reichel Insulation in Mankato, MN fabricates exterior hose storage bins for each of their trucks! This allows them to efficiently access the hose when they get to the jobsite, leaves more room for material and even keeps mud out of the truck on rainy days! The bin is 20" deep by 12' long, fastened directly under the box, and even has a step to help people access the side door of the truck!

— Mold and mildew after seeing cardboard baffles in a hot & humid climate.

M&M Insulation in Tampa, FL successfully standardized Owens Corning's Raft-R-Mate with a major builder as their preferred baffle solution. They leveraged their building science expertise and consulted with an inspector to make the case that cardboard baffles are inferior to Raft-R-Mate due to their potential as a food source for mold and mildew, showing the value that CEE's can bring their builders as envelope consultants!

Big Rock Insulation continues to provide weekly training refreshers to its installers every Monday morning by replaying modules from the Orientation, Apprentice and Expert level trainings on OCConnect. They pause during the Knowledge Checks and Quizzes to allow installers to answer and discuss their responses and check for agreement and questions. They’ve noticed an increase in workmanship as well as participation in these Monday morning replays!

Rockweiler's scaffolding storage — scaffolding can be a big mess, or worse, a safety hazard in warehouses. The Rockweiler team has a great cantilever rack system to help keep things tidy and safe.

Ever been a secondary sub for a mason? A few CEE board members told us that spraying 2lb foam behind masonry is excellent work for them. The margins are healthy and insulators can usually use scaffolding already assembled, which helps operationally! NEW SECURITY FEATURES IN OCCONNECT

In an effort to help keep your data secure, we have implemented a new multifactor authentication process for logging into OCConnect. When signing in, users will be prompted to provide a phone number to receive a one-time text message with a code that they will then enter as part of their sign-in process. They can then click "remember this device for 30 days" to avoid this requirement for a month. No cell phone? No problem, check out the FAQ's document linked below for more options!

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE!
25C and 45L Tax Credits

As of mid-June, the Senate has proposed more drastic cuts to both 25C and 45L tax credit programs. In the current Senate bill, 45L would sunset 1-year after enactment of the final bill and 25C would sunset after 6-months. As the House and Senate work to negotiate final language, we encourage our members to continue putting pressure on their Legislators, while also looking at how to maximize whatever remaining time exists for the benefit of their businesses.

We are interested in CEE members who share this “silver lining” approach and how we might be able to assist you in communicating this urgency in your respective markets. Reach out to us to discuss.

HURRICANE HELENE –
HELP SUPPORT FELLOW CEE MEMBER IMPACTED

Hurricane Helene has already become one of the deadliest hurricanes in U.S. history and one fellow CEE Member could use your help. Three employees of Mullins Company (Kingsport, TN) had their local community devastated by the storm. It resulted in the deaths of many, including one employee’s family member. As their area picks up the pieces, please consider donating directly to the cause by clicking the button below. Any donation to support the relief efforts would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, Mullins Company will be loading a truck of supplies next week and distributing to hard hit areas on Friday, October 11^th. They will be collecting water, cleaning supplies, baby items, non-perishable food/dog food and other special request items like tarps, flashlights, batteries, extension cords, etc. If you would like to help fill their truck, you can have Amazon ship items to:
