Residential Mineral Wool Products Outstanding Fire Resistance

Mineral wool insulation is made from rock and blast furnace slag. The raw materials are melted in a furnace at temperatures above 2,600°F. The molten substance is spun into billions of fibers, which are formed into insulating blankets with a high recycled content that provide fire resistive characteristics, thermal insulation and sound control.

Why insulate with Thermafiber® Mineral Wool? It can be installed easily and at any temperature; requires minimal personal protective equipment to install; provides excellent thermal, acoustical and fire-resistive properties in one product; and more.
